The parish of Altarnun lies on the eastern side of Bodmin Moor and covering 15,014 acres is the largest in Cornwall. The rugged moorland surrounds the unspoilt villages of Altarnun and Bolventor which boasts the world renowned Jamaica Inn. There are also a myriad of picturesque hamlets all combining to form a heart-warming diversity of rural Cornwall.
Our parish council is the voice of our traditional farming community — working to protect what makes our area special while driving improvements that matter to local people. We listen, act, and deliver on the issues that affect daily life, from green spaces to local services. By bringing residents together and championing their needs, we make sure our community’s future is shaped by the people who live here.
